A complete unit renovation that will have you asking the question “Is this the same unit”?! This quaint, but spacious unit situated in a tightly held beachfront complex in Casuarina was in desperate need to be brought back to life and really reflect the location’s coastal aesthetic.  When our designer Ellen first met with her interstate clients in their holiday/investment unit, it was no surprise to why the clients were wanting to undergo a renovation. All the surfaces, colours and fixtures were dated and even though the unit was completely empty, it appeared dark and gloomy.   Ellen worked closely with the clients on this project and put together a design intent and selections which was then presented to the clients in our design studio while they were up visiting family. The design brief was to update all the fixtures, fittings and colours, to create a home that is timeless, while moving in on a style that draws inspiration from the coastal suburb it resides in. Because the colour palette was going to stick to neutrals, there is no better way to enhance this, but to add an abundance of texture, and that is exactly what the new timber vinyl flooring and VJ panelling provides.  Once the clients were happy to proceed with what was presented, the renovation process started. Due to the clients living in a different state, Ellen worked as the project manager from start to finish - liaising and meeting with the trades onsite, creating a trade schedule, conducting daily site visits to ensure the project was running on track, a weekly update was then always communicated with the clients. This ensures that the clients are kept in the loop with any updates/changes that have to be made then and there while onsite, and keeps their mind at ease, especially being so far away.   We are so happy with how this project came to life, and our clients are too. It has completely uplifted this unit and bought it back into this decade.
